Volkswagen Arteon R-Line 2.0 TSI 4Motion facelift is open for pre-order – 280 PS, 350 Nm, RM245k-255k est

A few days later Release trailer of Facelifted Volkswagen Arteon, Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) announced that it has begun accepting pre-orders for the updated five-door coupe. As previously reported, the car will be New R-Line 2.0 TSI 4Motion variant, Provide greater power and full-claw traction Previous front-wheel drive model.

Please note that it will not be cheap, and the price is estimated to hover between RM245,000 and RM255,000; for comparison, the outgoing model will retail at RM221,065 on the road without insurance. Given that the 4Motion models are assembled locally in Pekan, its price will include a complete exemption of sales and service tax (SST) by the end of the year.

Before the official release, VPCM also confirmed the specifications of the car, which will be powered by the upgraded EA888 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The rated output power from 5,100 to 6,500 rpm is 280 PS, and the torque between 1,700 and 5,600 rpm is 350 Nm, which is 50 Nm lower than European models.

Nevertheless, it is still a damn picture higher than the previous car’s 190 PS and 320 Nm, and when combined with a seven-speed DSG wet dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive, it is enough to drive the car from zero to 100 km/h. It takes 5.6 seconds.

The standard equipment remains basically unchanged, including full LED headlights, LED taillights with sequence indicators and the same 19-inch Montevideo two-tone alloy wheels as before. Inside, Arteon continues to use Nappa carbon-printed leather upholstery for decoration, and is equipped with a renamed 12-speaker, 700-watt Harman Kardon sound system.

It is also equipped with keyless entry, button start, electric adjustable front seats with driver’s side memory, three-zone automatic climate control, automatic lights and wipers, automatic dimming rearview mirrors, 9.2-inch Discover Pro infotainment touch screen gestures Control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connection, dynamic chassis control (DCC) adaptive damper, 360-degree camera and hands-free electric tailgate.

In terms of safety, Arteon received lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and rear intersection warning, adding the usual six airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, stability control, post-collision braking and ISOFIX rear child seat Chair anchor. However, even with a new front camera for lane keeping, the car will still not provide automatic emergency braking, which is particularly regrettable in 2021.

Visually, Arteon updated the redesigned grille, which contains LED light bars connected to daytime running lights, and new taillight graphics with “dash” and inverted L-shaped designs. R-Line models use a more aggressive front bumper design, with intake vanes in the same color as the body and a black rear diffuser with fake four exhaust pipes.

A comprehensive renovation of the interior adds new angular vents and a silver strip around the front half of the cabin, as well as a trench that mimics the central clock. There are also new touch-sensitive switches for climate control and a redesigned steering wheel, and an expanded 30 palettes for ambient lighting systems. At the same time, the ErgoComfort seat adopts a more aggressive design with integrated headrest and embroidered R logo.

Arteon also has New Volkswagen with R badge, Making it the first model in Malaysia to do so. The colors include the new Lapiz Blue and the existing Oryx White, Deep Black, Pyrite Silver and Manganese Grey; the previous hero color turmeric yellow has been removed.
